The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of two main Divisions – the San Francisco Health Network and Population Health. The Maternal Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) and Primary Care (SFHN PC) divisions are integral parts of San Francisco Health Network’s complete system of care. The MCAH Section carries out the administrative and operational components of the MCAH goals and objectives required by State and Federal mandates. MCAH has oversight and implementation responsibility for program guidelines with health providers and community agencies, and subcontractor compliance with the MCAH Scope of Work. MCAH mission is to provide quality care for birthing people, children and their families with a racial equity and trauma informed lens. SFHN PC’s fourteen (14) health centers/programs, provide high-quality, compassionate care to the City’s children, youth, adults, and elders regardless of immigration status or ability to pay. Services include prenatal care and family planning services; integrated behavioral health and substance use services; dental, gender health, nutrition, pharmacy, and podiatry services; integrative health services such as acupuncture; and care for people experiencing homelessness and refugees/asylum seekers. The SFHN MCAH/PC Physician Champion will have 54% administrative time to work in MCAH Section to provide clinical oversight for women’s and adolescent health services within SFDPH, SFHN and MCAH. This role will also provide clinical care in one or more of the SFHN PC health centers/programs at 30% time.
