KIPP SoCal Public Schools is a nonprofit organization that operates free, open-enrollment, public charter schools focused on preparing students in under-resourced communities in Los Angeles to lead choice-filled lives. We are part of the nationwide KIPP network of 224 schools across the United States educating 100,000+ students. KIPP SoCal currently operates 19 schools in South, East, Southeast Los Angeles, and San Diego, serving 8,400+ students and helping to steward 4,300+ alumni to and through college. Ninety-one percent of our students are from low-income families and are eligible for the federal free or reduced-price meals program, and 99 percent are African American or Latino. More than 95 percent of KIPP SoCal middle school students have graduated from high school, and more than 75 percent of college-aged alumni are persisting in college. KIPP SoCal has received three Blue Ribbon Schools Awards and five California Distinguished Schools Awards.
