The Young Adult Assertive Community Treatment (YA ACT) team is a multi-disciplinary team that provides evidence-based, mobile, community-based mental health treatment to promote the recovery and community integration of individuals age 18 to 25 with serious mental illnesses, high rates of co-occurring substance use disorders and high utilization of emergency/crisis services. The team also provides developmentally appropriate support to build and implement productive vocational or education plans, and will focus on enhancing necessary skills for independent living and self-management. The Psychiatrist with the team leader has overall clinical responsibility for the delivery of clinical services on the Young Adult ACT Team. The Young Adult ACT Team provides at least 80% of the treatment services in community locations and the Psychiatrist will be outreaching each client at least once a month in the community. The Psychiatrist provides clinician assessments, supervision of medication administration, medication management services (including but not limited to: medication prescription, medication reconciliation, psychoeducation, coordination of treatment with other service providers). All applicants must comply with CASES/NYC's vaccination policy. Individuals selected for employment cannot begin working until they provide verification that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (with an FDA-authorized vaccine) or submit and gain approval for a Medical or Religious Exemption. Individuals approved for exemption must submit weekly PCR test results.
