Position Overview:
We seek a Sales leader to manage the business development, sponsorship, and appointment setting functions. The sales director is responsible for hands-on leadership and is judged based on the daily, weekly, and monthly output of his or her team. Reporting to the publisher, the sales director is responsible for both growing the production of individual team members, and also, growing the team's headcount over time, in a conservative, prudent manner.
There are two sides to our operations. One is editorial and production, where we create and distribute B2B content. This side is run by our editor in chief. The other side is sales and production. We are looking for a leader who can run the entire operations on a daily basis. Our team is stable, publishing since 2014, but also small, with approximately 10 professionals across the operations.
Our primary sales activities are:

Obtaining sponsorships and advertising for our business publications

Inviting high-level executives in North America, South America, and The Caribbean to important events

Obtaining new employer clients for our EmpleoBilingue platform
- Consulting work to enterprise and government clients in our areas of expertise
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with Publisher to develop multi-year plans to build market and position and brand by locating, developing, key end markets and applications.

Prioritizes market/applications to establish materials/messaging for our publications and existing client development and growth.

Leads/trains sales force on key end markets, customers, and applications.

Sets targets accounts (End Users, OEMs, and Integrators) and creates goals for sales teams and actively participates at key and target customers.

Directs publication and employment platform and high potential quotes activities.

Provides feedback on key quotes and funnel.

Manages CRM system and ensures proper usage.

Provides feedback from market on lead times and needed support.

Market/Consult to End Users to get specified into projects.

Drive activities to hit annual sales targets.

Support the enterprise reputation and value by taking ownership of Unido Digital Media offerings.

Attend conferences and industry events to be viewed as an industry expert.

Required Qualifications:

Technical / business degree or equivalent experience.

5+ years industry experience, including verifiable success as a leader of others.

At least 5 years of successful business development experience in publishing and media

Understands both the North and Latin American market and where to seek new business for B2B news and events.

Travel: 40%-60%

Prefer knowledge in growth opportunities, variety of industries, and technologies

Prefer strong existing network of B2B advertisers and executives

Prefer existing holders of a current US visitors' business/tourist visa.
