Position Summary: The Director - Risk Management Services is responsible for overseeing the organization's injury review, prevention, and mitigation efforts. This includes evaluating incidents, developing proactive strategies, and ensuring consistent implementation of risk management practices across all program sites. In addition to leading injury-related initiatives, this role may also encompass broader oversight of regulatory compliance areas such as OSHA standards, accreditation requirements, and public health safety protocols (CDC guidelines) based on evolving organizational needs. The Director will work closely with program leadership and support teams to foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous risk reduction. Regular travel to operational locations is required to conduct site reviews, audits, and training initiatives. Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables: Lead the review, analysis, and investigation of injury incidents, identifying trends, root causes, and areas for improvement. Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive injury prevention and risk mitigation initiatives. Conduct regular site visits to assess safety practices, risk management culture, and incident response readiness. Collaborate with program leadership to identify, document, and implement corrective actions. Maintain thorough and accurate records of injury incidents, investigations, corrective actions, and preventive measures. Support and facilitate training programs on injury prevention, risk awareness, and safe operational practices. Serve as the subject matter expert for injury-related risk management policies, procedures, and best practices. Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with OSHA standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Oversee broader public health and safety protocols, incorporating CDC guidance where applicable. Partner with Human Resources, Safety, and Program leadership to strengthen workplace safety culture and reduce organizational risk. Prepare reports and update senior leadership regularly regarding injury trends, mitigation efforts, and overall risk profiles. Assist in preparation for external inspections, audits, or accreditation surveys, including the Joint Commission or other regulatory bodies. Other Responsibilities: 1. A balance of office-based work and frequent travel to operational sites, including residential care environments, field offices, and shelters. 2. Maintain a flexible schedule based on organizational needs and site requirements. 3. Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor. 4. Implement Compass Connections system safety protocols in case of an emergency. 5. Participate in scheduled meetings and team decisions and operations. 6. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the program operations. 7. Maintain Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections systems personnel handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times. Requirements: 1. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment. 2. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request. 3. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks. 4. Demonstrate the ability to: a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics. b. Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals. c. Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times. d. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position. e. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. 5. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate risk management programs. 6. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills. 7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant risk management or safety tracking software. 8. Ability and willingness to travel regularly to program sites. 9. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.
