In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown. To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of: Mine Supervisor (Load and Haul) The Mine Supervisor is responsible for managing the safe, productive, and efficient operation of haul truck fleets and loading units within the mining operation. This role provides frontline supervision to operators, coordinates with dispatch and maintenance, and ensures compliance with mine plans, safety standards, and operational targets. Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties Supervise daily load and haul operations including ore and waste movement according to shift targets and mine plan. Ensure all haul truck and loader operators are working safely and efficiently while complying with company policies and regulatory requirements. Assign and direct work for equipment operators based on production priorities and real-time conditions. Monitor equipment performance and coordinate with maintenance to address breakdowns and reduce downtime. Conduct pre-shift meetings, safety briefings, and job-specific risk assessments. Collaborate with dispatch, drill and blast, and grade control teams to ensure continuous material flow. Inspect pit areas, roads, dumps, and load points to ensure safety, proper road conditions, and optimal efficiency. Track and report on haulage metrics, cycle times, payloads, and shift performance. Identify training needs and provide coaching to operators to improve performance and compliance. Participate in incident investigations and support corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications/Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mine or Geology Engineering, or a technical diploma in Mine or Geology Engineering + relative years of work experience. Minimum of 5 years of mining experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Strong understanding of load and haul best practices, haul truck operations, and production efficiency. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with dispatch and fleet management systems. Good communication, organization, and decision-making abilities. Basic computer proficiency.
