Our Profile In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown. To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of: Crane Operator The Crane Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining cranes used in construction, manufacturing, and heavy lifting operations. This position requires a solid understanding of crane functions, load lifting, and safety protocols to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operations on job sites. Key Responsibilities Operate cranes, including mobile, tower, and overhead cranes, to lift, move, position, and place heavy materials, equipment, and structures. Ensure the crane is properly maintained and conduct regular inspections to ensure safety and functionality. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including securing loads, inspecting rigging, and ensuring equipment is functioning properly before use. Communicate with the site supervisor, riggers, and other crew members to ensure accurate positioning and placement of loads. Maintain accurate logs of crane operations, maintenance, and inspection reports. Follow job site directions and make adjustments to crane operations based on changes in the site or weather conditions. Ensure proper use of safety gear and adherence to OSHA standards. Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major malfunctions to maintenance teams. Participate in routine safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and safety standards. Qualifications/Skills and Experience Valid crane operator certification. At least 2 years Proven experience operating various types of cranes in a construction or industrial setting. Knowledge of crane types, lifting techniques, load charts, and safety procedures. Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift heavy loads. Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with site supervisors and team members. Physical ability to operate cranes and manage site conditions, including standing for extended periods, climbing, and occasional heavy lifting. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety. Working Conditions Position based at the OKO Project site. Fly-in/Fly-out. Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site. Compensation Package 2-year contract for the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation.
