Nursing Manager, Adult Health Full Time NEW

The Nursing Manager helps fulfill the organization’s mission by providing leadership and promoting and facilitating excellent patient care in their respective departments.

Compensation:
The compensation range for this position is $90,000 – $105,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This individual’s primary responsibilities include:

Clinical Operations Management: In collaboration with the Department Director

• Oversee the clinic’s daily operations, ensuring efficient and effective patient care tailored to the needs of the population we serve.
• Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to enhance patient care, quality, and safety, in line with FQHC guidelines.
• Monitor patient flow and staff scheduling needs to optimize clinical service delivery.
• Be an effective member of the Departmental leadership team to support the implementation of continuous quality improvement activities.
• Oversee exam room readiness (i.e., clean and stocked) and ensure clinics are prepped and started on time.
• Ensure end-of-day duties are completed.
• Facilitate interdepartmental communications and sharing of resources. 

Staff Management:

• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, medical assistants, and other ancillary healthcare professionals.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to ensure clinical staff are up to date with best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and equitable task delegation in a manner that balances workloads and assures optimal floor coverage at all times.
• Build effective communication among other floor personnel, clinic management, and all departments by communicating information, responding to requests, and problem-solving.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard new clinical staff.
• Provide direct nursing care and care coordination to patients as needed.

Patient Care:

• Ensure that patient care standards are met and maintained, focusing on high-quality, compassionate care for the population we serve.
• Address patients’ concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure the department complies with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
• Maintain and promote compliance in immunization storage and handling (VFC/ASN program), administration, and inventory availability.
• Responsible for management oversight of equipment needs, equipped examination rooms, infection control standards, CLIA regulations, compliance with Standing Delegation Orders, and emergency events.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with clinical protocols and quality of care.
• Adhere to the state Board of Nursing and State Nurse Practice Act requirements and other governing agency regulations.
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

Quality Improvement: In collaboration with Department Directors

• Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes, with a focus on addressing health disparities.
• Analyze clinical data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement action plans to address identified issues.
• Collaborate and coordinate with the population health team to execute quality-based interventions to meet quality, payor, and organization-specific metrics and goals.

Education:

• RN, graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Experience:

• Minimum three to five years of related experience required.
• Minimum three to five years of supervisory experience required.
• Familiarity with EMR required. Epic OCHIN experience, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Understanding of the theory and practice of nursing and the managed care model;
• Ability to apply standards of professionalism in interactions with patients, peers, and supervisors.
• Ability to identify problems and formulate effective solutions.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to establish and maintain cordial and effective work relationships with diverse populations.
• Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
• Ability to initiate and implement work plans to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and accomplish goals in a high-change environment

Certificate/License: 

• Current professional license to practice in the state of Texas
• CPR certification
